Edit Comments in Microsoft Excel

In this article we will learn about how to edit the comments.

Before we learn about how to edit comments in a sheet, we have to understand about the comments. What are comments and how can we identify that if it is a comment in Microsoft Excel 2010 and 2013.

We can use the Comments in Excel to remind ourselves and inform someone else about what the cell contains. To add the comment in a cell, Excel provides the Insert Comment function. After inserting the comment it is displayed with little red triangles

The little red triangles will be displayed to indicate comments in cells comments.

To edit the comment from cell, Excel provides the Edit comment functionality.

Let’s take an example and understand how we can edit all cell comments in a sheet.

We are having working hour’s calculator sheet. In which we have inserted so many comments to remind the time calculations for our self and for users too.

We want to do some changes in comments, we have to use here Edit comments option.

To Edit the cells comments follow below given steps:-

  • Select the cell in which comment is inserted.
  • Right click with the mouse.
  • A popup will appear, from the list select Edit Comment.

  • You can edit in the comment box and can change the comment as per the requirement.
  • Let’s say if we want to change in this comment Saturday and Sunday Off.

  • Simply clear the previous remark by pressing the Backspace key on your keyboard and write new remark in the comment.

Another way to doing this you can delete previous comment can insert new comment as well.

This is the way by which you can edit the comments and update it if any changes you have done and wants to inform other person and wants to put it as reminder for yourself too.
