How to Insert an Excel document in Word file?
In this article we will learn how we can embed the Excel file or insert the Excel table into word file.
Why we embed the Excel file and what is the benefits of it?
We embed to create a dynamic link between the content of Doc file and Excel file, it creates a link between Excel and word file. We insert it as an object so that whenever we double click on the object we can use Excel commands to work with the worksheet content. Also we can see the object as image in which one documents text will appear, to display the whole workbook we double click on the object.
How to Embed an Excel file?
Let’s take an example to understand:-
We have year wise error report in Excel, which we want to insert in word file, and we want whenever we need to do any calculation in the sheet so we can be able to calculate in the word file only.

Follow below given steps:-
Note:- the embedded object is part of the Word file. There's no link to the original Excel file. To create a link, at step 5, click Paste Link, Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object. Now, if you double click the object, Excel opens the Excel file. To embed a file in Excel, on the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Object.
