Step 1: Filter records to unique records
1. Select the range containing records (column C in the screenshot).
2. From the Data menu, select Filter, and then Advanced Filter.
3. In the Advanced Filter dialog box, select Copy to another location.
4. In the Copy to box, select a cell, select Unique records only and click OK (ensure that the List range is correct before clicking OK). The unique records are in cells H2:H9 (see screenshot).
Step 2: Saving a Custom List
1. Select the unique records List (cells H2:H9 in the screenshot).
2. From the Tools menu, select Options, and then select the Custom Lists tab.
3. Click Import, and then click OK.
Step 3: Sorting by a Custom List
1. Select one of the cells in the List.
2. From the Data menu, select Sort, and then Options.
3. From the First key sort order dropdown list, select the Custom List and click OK.
4. In the Sort dialog box, select Sort by, then Customer Name, and then click OK.
