To defer an automatically updated PivotTable layout report:Check Defer Layout Update box at the bottom-left corner of PivotTable Field List dialog box.
Note: When the Defer Layout Update check box is selected the PivotTable layout is freezing, and many of PivotTable Tools Ribbon commands Options or Design are freezing as well.
