1. Copy the Date column and paste/insert it twice into the List.
2. Change the titles for the two new columns to Month and Year.
3. Change the formatting for each new column as follows:
Select the Month column, and press Ctrl+1, select the Number tab -> Custom,
and in the Type box, type MMMM.
Repeat this step for the Year column, and in the Type box, type YYYY.
4. Sort the List by the Month column or by the Year column.
5. Add Subtotals to the List.
