» Inserting a Copied Cell(s) Without Overwriting Existing Data

To copy and paste a cell(s) containing data without overwriting existing data:
1. Copy a cell(s) containing data.
2. Select a cell inside the range of cells that should not be overwritten.
3. Press Ctrl++ (plus sign) to open the Insert dialog box.
4. Select Shift cells right or Shift cells down, and click OK.
Using the mouse
To copy & paste a cell(s) without overwriting existing data, using both a keyboard shortcut and the mouse:
1. Select a cell(s) that contains the data to be copied.
2. Hold the Ctrl+Shift keys, move the mouse over the selection border, and when the cursor changes to a small cross, drag the cell(s) to a new location and paste it.
3. Notice the gray line bar that follows the mouse. Position it in the new location and release the mouse.
