310 Hi Paul, Topics in Excel, or topics in Math. It probably won't make much difference because you can probably find what you want in the links on tutorials on my /dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm#tutorial also note that Microsoft has materials K-12 kindergarten through grade 12 on their site, and the university tutorials are great for students who have to use Excel particularly for those who need to use Excel without taking a course in Excel. 726 Phil - For a line chart, a log X scale is undefined. I would suggest instead to use a regular XY scatter chart, make the X axis logarithmic, and use data labels on the data points (labels option, not values). If you absolutely need axis labels at other intervals besides the decades, try to generate a simulated log axis with an arbitrary scale, as demonstrated on Tushar Mehta's web site (-mehta.com) with his flexible log scale axis tutorial, or by one of the fake axis tricks on my website (/jonpeltier/Excel/Charts, specifically the arbitrary axis scale, probability axis, or reciprocal axis examples). - Jon _______ In article <124e401c21c4b$dc5f4030$39ef2ecf@TKMSFTNGXA08, pperry@acsoft.co.uk says... Hi, I'm plotting lines on a chart with a log x axis and linear y axis. The only way i seem to be able to get the chosen x axis labels to appear along the x-axis is by using a line graph. But if I use this I cannot change the x values for different data series as I can if I use a scatter graph (which only lets me label the log x-axis in factors of 10) I need the values: 31.5, 63, 125, 250.... displayed as the x-axis labels, but then need to add lines corresponding to a data series of 125, 250, 500.... but the x values can't be changed for individual data series. Is there a way round this problem? Many thanks Phil
