Thanks, but you are right, I have no references set!  The workbook works
fine with Office 97 - and Office 2K and XP too.  It is just when any of
these Office versions are running under the Win XP HOME operating system
that the problem comes up.  I even built a minimal XP-Home system just
to try and debug the thing, but haven't gotten anywhere.  There are no
error messages, just an hour-glass and Excel stops responding.

Oh - not sure what you mean that my reply is set to 'me only, not the
list'.
