I have recently converted a file that was orginally written in SYMPHONY to an
EXCEL 5.0 workbook file.  The SYMPH file was about 1 meg in size.  It is used

to do all of the necessary adjustments from our general ledger detail to

on a 486, 66Mhz with 16 meg RAM machine.  I have since split my original file
into two (each about 500K in size).  If I had built in EXCEL to begin with, I

the EXCEL manual it seems as though my links should be maintained as long as I

We are having a problem with Excel 5.0 running on a Quadra 700 (7.0.1,

tuned). By using the Excel macro language, I have designed a log keeping

program for our observatory. The application dies with a "Type 1" (bus

named like dmf..... , some 20 characters long. All of them are typed as
Excel documents.

Once I get the program going again, I unhide my macro file and found that
by merely scrolling down to a particular cell ($A$640), Excel would die

Wizard come up when you use menu item File/Open and choose text files.
Much, much, much, much better than Excel 4.0's Data/Parse.

the Tools Menu, Options, and then the GENERAL Tab.  From there, set the
